To ensure nobody has to go hungry at Hillside, the organizers have purposely curated a food bazaar that includes options that are vegetarian, vegan, organic, gluten free, and fair trade. Featuring everything from small batch popsicles and Belgium waffles to do-it-yourself Buddha bowls, wood-fired pizza, Indian-fusion tacos, and delicious Pad Thai, you’ll be just as excited for the food as you will be for the music. Another great aspect of the Hillside Summer Festival, besides how close it is to your Rockwell home, is how child-friendly it is! Elora Festival 2018
Running from July 13th to the 29th, the Elora Festival is sure to be every opera, jazz, and folk-enthusiasts’ most anticipated summer event! Join the festival on opening night for a glamorous opera gala, hosted in partnership with the Canadian Opera Company, which will feature a public reception and post-performance fireworks. Throughout the festival, you’ll love listening to world-renowned tenors, choruses, and ensembles, all the while surrounded by the picturesque scenery of beautiful Elora. Don’t forget to make sure your kids are having fun at the festival while you enjoy the concerts! Registration is now open for the Elora Festival Kids Camp, where over the course of five days the camp will learn the complete soundtrack to the musical The Lion King KIDS. Party in the Park
On August 2nd, join your neighbours at Rockmosa Park in downtown Rockwood for an evening filled with great food, music, and fun! Shakespeare in the Park
Back by popular demand for a fifth season, the Elora Community Theatre will be performing Shakespeare’s classic, “As You Like It” in Bissell Park throughout the first two weekends of July. Enjoy a relaxing evening in the park as you laugh along to this timeless comedy involving the beautiful Rosalind fleeing in disguise from her uncle’s court and running into some interesting people in the Forest of Arden. There is no need to purchase tickets in advance or reserve a spot for these performances, as admittance is by donation only. Just make sure you bring a comfy lawn chair and some snacks! Fergus Scottish Festival 2018
BSince its establishment in 1946, people from across Ontario have flocked to Fergus for their tremendously popular annual Fergus Scottish Festival and Highland Games. The festival, taking place from August 10th to the 12th, is meant to exemplify traditional Scottish culture and traditions, and will feature enough Celtic singers, bagpipers, drummers, Highland dancers, and delicious food to make you feel like you’re actually on vacation across the pond! Your family will have a blast cheering on men and women in the heavies competitions, during which competitors will compete in ancient Scottish games like the hammer throw and sheaf toss! Riverfest Elora 2018
